- General DiscussionPart of my job is to analyse & explain variances. This involves combining data sets. The new Excel function - VSTACK - is one way of doing that. It is quick, with simple snytax. Another benefit is that VSTACK is dynamic. If the data sources change, then the combined data set automatically refreshes and updates. It is dynamic. If you were combining data sets into one for an iterative process - e.g. forecast or budget - this is a a huge benefit. Much faster and accurate than other methods. - Questions & AnswersWhile you can copy and paste data sets, if data sets are dynamic - it is very time consuming & potentially error prone to constantly copy and paste. Microsoft have introduced a simple new formula - VSTACK - which is a simple and dymanic way to combine data sets in Excel. See the attached presentation.
